Couple charged with driving drunk at Taco Bell drive thru

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A couple is accused of driving drunk with their child while visiting the drive thru at a Taco Bell early Friday morning.

Police said they found the driver, Nathaniel Neuner, 32, was slurring his words and failed a sobriety test.

Officers said that his wife, Autumn, had been driving the vehicle earlier before switching to the passenger seat. When police arrived around 12:20 a.m., she was unconscious.

Once she go out the car, she was unsteady on her feet, had difficulty staying awake and slurred speech.

She told officers she had been taken medications throughout the night. Officers also noticed there was an 8-year-old child sitting in the back seat of the vehicle.

Nathaniel Neuner was taken to jail, while his wife was transported to a hospital because of her level of intoxication. After being cleared by doctors, she was also taken to jail.

The child was turned over to the Department of Children's Service custody since officers were unable to locate another adult to take care of the child.

The couple are both charged with driving under the influence and contributing to dependency.
