LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A LMPD officer was hurt after a foot chase Easter Sunday morning. It all happened right beside Louis Ben Israel Park near 2nd and Woodlawn around 4:30 a.m.
"I just saw police outside. I looked out the window and I saw police outside," said neighbor Christina Louis.
It was a commotion that woke people up in the Beechmont Neighborhood early Easter morning as a traffic stop took a different turn.
Police say the suspect at one point got out of a car which prompted a chase. At one point during all the activity, an officer involved was hurt and suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Neighbors were curious about what was going on in those early morning hours.
"I saw police there and I didn't go. I live by myself and I'm too scared to go outside," Louis said.
LMPD isn't releasing much information in the case, including the officer's condition or what exactly the suspect was wanted for in the first place.
Additional officers made the scene and were able to catch up and arrest the suspect.
The car in question which seemed to be the center of the ordeal was towed away while the investigation continues.
