ST. MATTHEWS, KY (WAVE) - A semi driver was rushed to the hospital after an early morning crash in St. Matthews.
According to St. Matthews police officers at the scene, the semi was traveling along the Watterson ramp to Interstate 64 when the driver lost control and ran off the interstate.
The semi then crashed through a fence onto Sherburn Lane near the Mallard Creek Apartments hitting two trees. Police said the second tree kept the truck from hitting some apartments.
We're told the truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of a broken leg.
What caused the driver to lose control of the rig is under investigation.
