LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have charged a fourth person in the murder of a 15-year-old girl.
Cephus Gore, 28, was arrested Tuesday on charges of murder, wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence in the case of Tysha Spearman's death.
Family members said Spearman, a student at Shawnee High School, was with an adult on June 11, 2012 when the two went to a store. The adult ran into a man and the two started fighting. Spearman's family members said she had nothing to do with the altercation and was trying to get away when she was shot in the back.
"We still don't understand how it happened," said Angel Spearman, Tysha's cousin. "We are just trying to learn how to live our life without Tysha."
The first person facing charges in Spearman's murder, Antonio McFarland, 21, was arrested shortly after the shooting. Police also arrested Cecil Spearman and Reginae Williams in connection to the case.
Angel Spearman said Cecil Spearman is their cousin. She doesn't believe Cecil Spearman was involved in Tysha's death.
"Just be glad when it's the trial gets going and the truth comes out," said Angel Spearman. "Whoever is responsible be held responsible."
Gore is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections. He is expected to be arraigned on Thursday morning. He has a lengthily criminal history dating back to 2000.
