LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - After the University of Louisville fought their way into the national championship game with a win over Wichita State, Cardinal fans celebrated the victory by taking to the streets on UofL's campus.
Cardinal Boulevard was blocked off between 3rd and 4th Streets with college students decked out in red, chanting, and cheering. People in cars honked their horns while driving by.
200 workers, including police, Ems and firefighters, stood by to manage crowd control, traffic and criminal behavior.
Police had a security plan laid out. They are prepping for the outcome of the Cards championship game versus Michigan on Monday.
