LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Welcome home to the 2013 NCAA Men's National Champions. The Louisville Cardinals arrived home from Atlanta Tuesday afternoon. They were welcomed by about three dozen fans at the airport in a make-shift welcome home party.

As the team plane taxied from the runway it was greeted with a water bridge courtesy of the airport fire department. As soon as the fans saw the first person get off the plane, they started cheering at chanting C-A-R-D-S. From about 200 yards away, the players stopped to wave back and do a little dance much to the delight of Karen Koshewa, who was a Louisville cheerleader and former president of the Alumni Association.

"We think it was Bohanon, but we're not sure," explained Koshewa. "Evidently we were cheering and everyone was yelling and all the sudden the team did acknowledge. I think they did hear us."

When asked why she would come out to welcome home the team when they were too far away to see which player was which, Koshewa replied, "All we knew was they were coming here and we said we had to be here to support them, so we are we're here."

As the team left, they did not stop, but you could see players waving again to the fans from their bus.
