Motorcyclist killed in Shelby County crash

SHELBY COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A man died Wednesday night after a motorcycle crash near Simpsonville.

Police said Steven Ball, 40, hit a road sign after losing control of the motorcycle on Aiken Road. The coroner's office pronounced Ball dead at the scene.

Kentucky State Police said Ball was wearing a helmet. They believe excessive speed caused the crash.

    Witnesses said the suspect walked into Jazzman's Cafe, located inside the Glenn Building on campus, shortly before 9 a.m. and yelled, "The day of reckoning is here!" before approaching students.
