US 93 partially reopens after hazardous material accident
PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -
U.S. 93 has one lane of traffic open in either direction after a hazardous materials accident had it shut down roughly seven miles south of Wikieup, a main artery for drivers traveling between Phoenix and Las Vegas.
There are few details available about the accident. However, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a tractor trailer rolled over.
Those drivers traveling along U.S. 93 should expect major delays. The single-lane restrictions will be in place for an extended period, said the Arizona Department of Transportation.
ADOT said there is not an estimated time as to when U.S. 93 will reopen completely.
Wikieup is located between Interstate 40 and Wickenburg, roughly 130 miles northwest of Phoenix.
