CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Cincinnati continues to gear up for significant cuts to the city's fire and police departments.
On Friday afternoon, Cincinnati's human resources director Georgetta Kelly sent an email to union leaders laying out a basic timeframe for the layoff process.
While the email pinned June 9th as the layoff effective date, the director made it clear that date, along with all others, is subject to change.
A tentative timeline provided in the email included three phases of the layoff plan:
Phase I includes confirmation of the positions that will be affected, estimated by April 30.
Phase II will be identifying the employees within the affected positions, estimated by May 20.
Phase III is implementation, with union review of layoffs, employees sent letters and a job transitioning online resource center up and running, estimated by June 9.
Fraternal Order of Police President Kathy Harrell told FOX19 the email was nothing new and feels like union leaders have no more clarity than they did following their meeting with Human Resources on Wednesday.
FOX19 reported after that meeting, union leaders were told layoffs could occur anywhere between June 7-9, depending on employee schedules.
Harrell says union leaders still do not have any official date on when pinkslips can be expected.
