LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A spring cleaning is planned for the Floyds Fork Waterway. The site, located in eastern Jefferson County, is expected to have about 200 volunteers.
The cleanup will take place on April 20 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The event is part of the city Louisville's Give-A-Day, Week of Service activities.
Participants wanting to navigate the area by boat are encouraged to bring their own kayaks and canoes. Volunteers wanting to remain on land will be able to clean up along the banks of the fork, the William F. Miles Lakes, and around Beckley Creek.
All are welcome and volunteers will receive a map of the area, shuttling information, gloves, bags and water before the clean up begins. Volunteers should come to the PWC Pavilion located at 1310 S. Beckley Station Road.
