A double shooting in Westwood left one person dead and one in critical condition.

Police were called to the 2700 block of Baker Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday after reports of gunshots in the area.

Responding officers located two victims lying in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Police pronounced one victim dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Lionel Phillips.

The second victim was transported to UC Medical Center where he is currently in serious condition.

The suspect in the shooting surrendered to police and was arrested on weapons charges. He has been identified as 27-year-old Ronald Williams.

Williams was arraigned on Monday and is being held on a $250,000 bond. His case will go to a grand jury next week.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
