LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The city's latest murder victim will never get to meet his first child. Louisville Metro Police are investigating a homicide in the 4000 block of Southern Parkway that happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Family members identified the victim as Patrick Craig, 28. They say they don't understand why Craig was murdered. They say Craig and his girlfriend were at home, when someone kept knocking on the door.

"They shot up at him they shot him and hit him in his heart," said Craig's cousin Tommy.

Craig died at the scene.

"I don't even know why anyone would do this," said Knowles. "My cousin was always trying to help people out. He was trying to everything going with his career."

Craig's cousins say he was a rapper who performed around the area.

"He could have made it big," said Knowles.

"He was a good guy he was my cousin I loved him," said Tommy.

Family members say Craig's girlfriend who is pregnant was in the apartment when he was killed.

"Now he's not going to be able to see his baby and that's sad on everybody," said Knowles.
