LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - If you were planning on taking your four legged friend for walk on the pedestrian bridge, you will have to make other plans.
Since pet owners did a poor job cleaning up after their animals on the Big Four Bridge all animals are now banned.
When the bridge opened for walkers and joggers in February, dogs on leashes were permitted to accompany their owners, but many of them left piles of waste behind.
On March 24 a Responsible Rally for Rover campaign was held on the bridge to encourage cleanups, but the situation continued to get worse.
Park officials said owners may still bring dogs to the park area below the bridge.
