CLARKSVILLE, IN (WAVE) - A multi-state check forgery investigation has netted three arrests in southern Indiana.

Clarksville police say Jerome Blake, Khadim Jawneh, and Marshun Jackson, all from Georgia, picked up homeless people and used their ID cards or driver licenses to write forged checks in their names.

Detectives say one suspect admitted they cashed $20,000 in forgeries last week in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Chief Mark Palmer said they do not believe the men have cashed any forged checks in Clarksville.

All three men have been booked into the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville on multiple counts of fraud and forgery.

Clarksville police contacted the United States Secret Service about the investigation.
