Man killed outside pub, suspect charged with homicide

COLUMBUS, IN (WAVE) - A man was taken into custody after a victim was found dead outside a pub.

According to Columbus Police, Thomas L. Brazzell was found dead Monday at Caddies Pub, located at 2761 Central Avenue.

Police said several witnesses reported Jacob A. Tolbert was driving a vehicle and struck Brazzell and then left the scene without stopping.

A tip led police to the 2800 block of 12th Street where they found Tolbert and took him into custody. Officers also said they found a small amount of marijuana in Tolbert's possession.

Tolbert was transported to Bartholomew County Jail. He is charged with reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident causing death and possession of marijuana.
