SELLERSBURG, IN (WAVE) - A fallen Indiana State Police Trooper was honored Wednesday.

The Floyd County Prosecutor donated a specially equipped van to the Combined Accident Reconstruction Team in former trooper David Scott's name.

Scott was a founder of CART.

Scott died suddenly in 2012 leaving behind his wife and two young children.

ISP Superintendent Doug Carter said, "The threats of today are unlike any in history and we have a duty and obligation to dive into these communities and understand the roots of them and understand the problems these individual communities are facing."

Scott's widow and children attended the dedication.
