Mesoraco, Choo homer as Reds beat Braves 5-4

Devin Mesoraco and Shin-Soo Choo hit back-to-back home runs with two outs in the ninth inning, and the Reds came back to beat the Atlanta Braves, 5-4.

Atlanta closer Craig Kimbrel, considered one of the best 9th inning pitchers in baseball, struck out the first two batters in the 9th before surrendering the consecutive home runs.

"Two outs in the 9th against Kimbrel, chances are pretty good they're going to have a win," said Mesoraco after his first career pinch hit home run.  "But, I wanted to see a pitch or two to gauge his speed and I got his speed down and put a good swing on his fastest pitch away.  That's what Dusty always tells us to look for with two strikes."

Choo's second career game-ending home run gives him the club lead with 7 round trippers this season.

"Not many times in my career have I hit the ball like that, especially opposite field," Choo said.  "I think (it's) a big game for us."

Kimbrel allowed only three home runs all of last season.

The Reds have four of the past five games and go for a series win Wednesday afternoon against the Braves.
