Police release identity of Longview man arrested after Tuesday shootout

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

A Longview man has been arrested following a shootout on Tuesday afternoon in which two were wounded.

According to Longview police, on Tuesday just after 1 p.m., Longview police officers were notified that two subjects had been taken by private cars to Good Shepherd Medical Center following a shooting.

When officers arrived at Good Shepherd, they located two male victims who had been involved in the shooting. According to statements made, officers were able to determine that the shooting occurred in the 1200 Block of Lorin Drive.

Reports received from both men and other witnesses showed that the victims, identified as Christian Sibley, 19 and Rashaad McCray 20, both of Longview, were involved in an altercation inside the residence of the location. Both subjects produced weapons and began firing their guns at each other. Both men were shot during the exchange of gunfire.

Sibley was placed under arrest, and, while being escorted to an awaiting patrol car, he broke free from police, and attempted to escape custody. He was located approximately 5 blocks from Good Shepherd and taken back into custody without further incident.

He was transported to Gregg County Jail and charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and escape from custody, both  Class A misdemeanors.

Rashaad McCray was treated and released from the hospital. The investigation into this shooting continues.
