NEW ALBABY, IN (WAVE) - A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of the woman who police say killed her lover during a sex fantasy.

Lisa Shuler, 31, made her initial court appearance before a judge in Floyd County Thursday afternoon. Floyd Superior Court Judge Maria Granger set her trial for September 28.

Before leaving the courtroom, Shuler asked about bail. Granger said she is holding Shuler without bail until she gets a written request to adjust that. Shuler still does not have an attorney.

Shuler was arrested Monday night after she called police from a home in the 3800 block of Wabash Avenue and told dispatchers she shot a man who had come into her home. Police say Shuler made up that story.

Authorities said the two knew each other and court documents revealed Shuler invited Pierce over to her home on Wabash Avenue Monday night to play out a rape fantasy.

Shuler had nothing to say to the media as she was escorted out of the courtroom Thursday.
