FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - The Federal Government is making an effort to speed up the trial of embattled former agriculture commissioner and University of Kentucky basketball icon Richie Farmer.
The United States Attorney filed a court brief Thursday asking the trial be scheduled in the fall of 2013 instead of February 2014.
Farmer is facing charges of misappropriating government resources while he served as AG commissioner.
Farmer could serve up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
