LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The driver of a vehicle struck by a train in Floyd County, Indiana is being treated for her injuries.
According to Floyd County Police, the accident was reported at 6:45 p.m. in the 3300 block of Corydon Pike, just outside New Albany.
The driver of the vehicle had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters. She was taken to Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany for treatment of injuries said to be serious, but not life threatening.
The crossing where the accident happened is marked with a railroad crossing sign, but there are no flashing lights of gates.
The accident remains under investigation, but a Floyd County Police spokesperson said no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
