LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The driver killed in a crash on the Watterson Expressway while driving the wrong way, has been identified.

According  to police, around 8:30 p.m. Saturday Timothy Sharp, 33, was driving a white Cavalier eastbound on Interstate 264 West when he wrecked into a Cadillac between Cane Run Road and Bells Lane. Sharp, the father of two young girls ages 2 and 5, was killed in the crash.

Sharp's fiancé was with him during the crash and was transported to University Hospital.

A witness, Jimara Thomas, 16, said she was with her aunt on her way home from WalMart with her aunt when they passed the crash site, "I knew somebody died just by the way the white car looked. It was all smashed into pieces into the wall."

As she got closer, Thomas realized her gut instinct was right, "We started to drive by and I saw a sheet and I was looking over the side of the window and I just saw a man laying there and I just started crying."

Jimara said she cried the whole way home, "I was just thinking about like somebody has lost their son the night before Mother's Day and somebody lost their father."

Sharp's next door neighbor, Troy Dunn, was stunned to hear the news, "It's a bad thing, especially for her and those two kids, especially those kids that have to grow up like that with no dad."

Dunn described Sharp as a nice guy who liked to fish. He also said Sharp was a part-time chef and was leaving a wedding where he was the DJ.

Sharp's fiancé is expected to recover.

The driver of the Cadillac was also transported to University Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
