LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The jury reached a verdict in the murder trial of Steven Pettway.

Wednesday, Pettway was found guilty of murder and intimidating a participant in the legal process in the murder of Troya Sheckles.

Sheckles was fatally shot in Shelby Park in March 2009, before she could testify in Lloyd Hammond's trial. Hammond is accused of killing Sheckles' boyfriend.

Hammond's brother, Dejuan Hammond, is also charged in Sheckles' murder.

Wednesday's verdict ended Pettway's second trial after his first ended in a mistrial on October 26, 2012.

Co-defendant Dejuan Hammond's trial will now be scheduled.
