LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A gas station fire shut down a busy Louisville intersection on Thursday.

The fire at the Marathon gas station at Hikes Lane and Bardstown Road was extinguished, but the intersection remained closed during the noon hour, according to MetroSafe. The fire was reported at 11:09 a.m.

A firefighter on the scene said a lightning strike is suspected of causing the fire. There were no reports of injuries.
