(Louisville, Ky.) Former Eastern High School Star, Remy Abell declared earlier this spring that he was transferring from Indiana University. On Friday, he announced he is heading to Xavier.
Abell averaged about four points per game while at IU. He chose Xavier over St. Louis and Saint Mary's. " I've sat down with my family and close friends and I'm going to go to Xavier University. I just feel like that's the best fit for me. With everything they had to offer, I feel like it best suits me. It's a great program and I can do a lot of great things there", said Abell.
Abell will have to sit out next season, because of the NCAA's transfer rules, but is happy to still be playing college basketball close to home. "That's one of the best things about it. Being close to home, all of my family and close friends can come see me play, and that's what makes it special. They won't miss a game. Won't miss a beat. I'm excited about my decision, and just ready to get things rolling", said Abell.
