Siblings killed in Nelson County crash

COX'S CREEK, KY (WAVE) – A brother and sister were killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Nelson County, according to Kentucky State Police.

A KSP investigation found that Amaris E. Blair, 22, of Cox's Creek lost control of the 2002 Volkswagen Jetta she was driving northbound on KY 245 around 10 p.m. Saturday. Police said Blair spun into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck with a single car-haul trailer attached. The truck was driven by Christopher Greer, 37, of Bardstown. Greer's truck was traveling southbound on KY 245 and slammed into the Jetta's passenger door.

Blair and her passenger and brother Jonathan Blair, 23, also of Cox's Creek, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County coroner.

Greer and his two passengers, Ronald B. Greer, 64, and a 7-year-old, both of Bardstown, suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. They were taken to Flaget Hospital in Bardstown and later transferred to University of Louisville Hospital.

Toxicology results are pending on both drivers, but police said alcohol appeared to have been a factor in Amaris Blair losing control of the Jetta.
