Police: Woman used vehicle to steal lottery tickets

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman accused of stealing hundreds of lottery tickets from a Louisville gas station turned herself in to police.

According to an arrest report filed by Louisville Metro Police, Cherell Gibson used her vehicle to force entry into the Next Door Convenience Food Mart on Newburg Road on April 16. Once she was inside she allegedly stole more than $1,500 worth of lottery tickets.

The report stated later on April 16, Gibson was caught on camera cashing in the stolen tickets at Top Notch Food Mart.

Gibson turned herself in to a detective on May 17. She is charged with burglary and unlawful access to a computer.

Officers are still looking for a second woman in the case.
