LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A production group is hoping to capture the essence of a young boy and transfer his story to film.

Jarrett Mynear fought Ewings Sarcoma at Kosair Children's Hospital until October 4, 2002 when he lost his battle to the disease at the age of 13.

Jarrett lifted the spirits of everyone he came into contact with and wanted to spread joy to other children. He started Jarrett's Joy Cart, a program that gives new toys to children in hospitals once a week, in hopes of bringing them joy.

The Joy Cart movie project is helping Jarrett's legacy live on with a movie titled "Joy Cart."

The company is hoping to raise money to help with the cost of production, but the deadline for their fundraiser ends May 23 at 5 p.m.
