LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Today the heat is on for a Summer Job! All over The Louisville Metro Area Community thousands of our youth are out and about trying to find an internship and a place to work this summer.
All of us know how boring the summer can be with nothing to do and nowhere to go.
Summer Jobs encourage our youth to stay in school and become a productive citizen in our society.
Summer Jobs strengthens our economy and moves Louisville Metro and our region forward.
Project One, INC. is announcing Summer Jobs+, a new call to action for businesses, non-profits, and governmental agencies to work together to provide pathways to early employment for our youth during the summer months of 2013.
We want to see our community come together and commit to creating 300 Summer Job Placements.
All of us can remember as adults, when we received our first summer Job and what a difference that job made in our lives and our career journey.
Now we have an opportunity to return the favor and give a youth a chance to work this summer.
WAVE 3 News is teaming up with Project One in its Second - Annual City Wide – Summer Job – A – Thon to try and help.
This year Project One is celebrating 28 years in helping more than 15,000 youth get a summer job.
