LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville Metro Police Department officer who was accused of slapping a handcuffed suspect has resigned.

Officer David Graham stepped down Wednesday.

A jury convicted Graham in March 2013 of official misconduct and harassment for repeatedly hitting a suspect in a March 2012 arrest.

Graham was fined him the minimum allowed, $2.

The 14-year veteran still faces possible disciplinary action from the police department.
