JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - A major drug bust unfolded Friday in a quiet Jeffersonville neighborhood not far from an elementary school.
It happened around 2 p.m. at a home in the 3100 block of Clearstream Way. Inside the home, which is near Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, authorities discovered 10 grams of meth and several active meth labs.
Police say this was a significant bust because the man they arrested, Nickolas Wedding, 23, is a well known methamphetamine manufacturer and dealer.
Clarksville Police say they were tipped off to the home where Wedding was staying. With the help of Jeffersonville Police and Indiana State Police, officers executed a search warrant and Wedding was arrested. He lived with his girlfriend, who was taken in for questioning.
Neighbors say Clearstream Way is a quiet street with lots of families. Thomas Jefferson Elementary students were not affected on their last day of school.
Wedding was booked into the Clark County Jail and faces numerous drug charges. Police say the charges against Wedding will most likely be elevated because it happened near a school.
