Veterans Cemetery honors military on Memorial Day

RADCLIFF, KY (WAVE) - Heroes who have served in the military came with their families and friends to Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff on Monday for a Memorial Day service. They honored the men and women who served and never came back and those who still serve.

The Human Resources Honors Team from Fort Knox led a flag presentation for the crowd.

Republican Representative Tim Moore of District 26 was the guest speaker. He spoke of three people close to him who served in the military.

"Even on Memorial Day when we remember the fallen, we must remember the living who have served faithfully," Rep. Moore said.

Nathan Kschreve has been to Afghanistan twice and Iraq once. He said Monday's ceremony was comforting after losing so many friends overseas.

"I cried today. Thinking about it I'm about to start crying now. Being over there losing friends, it means a lot," said Kschreve.

Casey Williams, who is Kschreve's girlfriend, will join the Air Force.

"People who don't live in a military area, they tend to forget," Williams said. "So it's definitely important to remember them because they've made the biggest sacrifice out of everyone else in our country."
