Firefighters hurt, traffic clogged after fire truck overturns

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Three Shepherdsville firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries on Monday when a Shepherdsville Fire Department vehicle was involved in a rollover accident.

The accident happened on Cedar Grove Road/Highway 480 at Interstate 65 around 4:30 p.m.

Shepherdsville Fire Chief Layne Troutman Troutman said three firefighters were aboard the fire truck, responding to a dumpster fire at a business when the vehicle turned over.

One of the firefighters was taken to University of Louisville Hospital by ambulance. The other two firefighters were taken to the same hospital by personal vehicle.

The Shepherdsville Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
