The closure was announced in January by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. A total of 139 students were enrolled in the school's most recent academic year.

Future plans for the school building are under consideration.  Students who attend the school will receive a $1,000 scholarship to enroll their children in another Catholic school in the New Albany Deanery.
