Hearing Amy Ellis talk this week about her murdered husband
ripped your heart apart. Her strength
during this unfathomable time is beyond admirable. Officer Jason Ellis by all accounts had
already positively touched more people in his 33 short years of life than many
of us hope to in double that time.
The anguish is gut-wrenching for the 25 police officers in
Bardstown, and their community, considered the most beautiful small town in
America by Rand McNally, the USA Today, and certainly many people in our
We grieve with them and applaud those who have contributed
to the fund to support the Ellis family and help capture those responsible for
We salute all police officers who sacrifice much in the line
All of mankind takes a hit when someone is murdered, whether
it is in a small town or a big city.
Every human life is precious, and the grief is enormous for
all those victimized by murder.
