LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Twenty organizers joined the "Walk for a Better Education" Saturday.

Organizers joined the Kentucky Black Alliance for Education Options to walk from 34th Street and Muhammad Ali to Shawnee Park.

The walk pushes for options like charter schools.

"We believe this is the civil rights issue of the 21st century. We need to start putting our kids first. That's why you see parents and children out here," said Pastor Jerry Stephenson.

 Parents also received information on summer activity and after school options for their children.
