DEFIANCE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Defiance Police are looking for two people involved in a scam against senior citizens.

Police say two women are posing as nurses and asking to come inside residents' homes to look through their medication. It's happened at least seven times in the last week.

"They'll chat them up," said Assistant Police Chief Jeffrey Mack. "They're very friendly, wearing nurse-like outfits."

Some pills went missing from at least one of the homes.

"That's something that would infuriate me if that happened to one of my family members," said Jason Duncan, a Defiance resident.

Now those who live in the area say they'll do what they can to help keep neighbors safe. Police are urging senior citizens to make sure they know who they're letting into their homes.

"Any legitimate home health care worker is going to have identification," Mack said. "Ask for it when somebody comes to the door."

Police are looking for two women, but they have only been given a very vague description. If you have any information, contact the Defiance Police at 419-784-5050.
