BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Weeks after Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis was murdered, threats have been placed against his former department.

Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin said his department has received threats against officers.

He said the threats have been reported to the Kentucky State Police.

Officer Ellis was shot and killed in the middle of the night on May 25 while trying to remove tree branches from Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County.

A substantial reward is being offered for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the case.
