ZONETON, KY (WAVE) – Fire damaged a building in northern Bullitt County that once housed a flea market.

According to Chief Rob Orkies of the Zoneton Fire Department, the building that burned was now a church and an auto repair shop, which had six vehicles inside.

Orkies said the fire started inside of the auto repair shop. The cause of the fire has not been released.

The alarm around 9 a.m. brought at least 50 firefighters from Zoneton, Shepherdsville, Mount Washington, Nichols, and Okolona to the scene at 2385 N. Preston Highway, north of Shepherdsville.

Three injuries were reported. One person, who was in the shop when the fire started, suffered a small burn to the wrist.  He refused treatment.  Two firefighters were taken to the hospital and released. One was treated for debris in the eye, the other was suffering from heat exhaustion.

Two other buildings on the property did not appear to be damaged.
