LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Day care owner Katrina Clyburn was supposed to be in court Saturday morning, but has been released from jail on her own recognizance.
Clyburn was accused of lying to the state and collecting more that $100,000.
Trina's Treehouse Two, Clyburn's business, was one of 18 day care facilities in the Louisville area that reached a settlement earlier this year to avoid prosecution for problems with payouts of the state's Child Care Assistance Program.
According to state documents, Clyburn lied about her income and where she worked from 2009-2012. The document states she forged paperwork to collect more than $100,000 in food stamps, medicaid and child care assistance benefits she did not deserve.
Clyburn is charged with 13 counts of creating false statements to receive benefits.
