JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Raymond man accused of DUI homicide in the death of a toddler has been released on bond.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Brett Prince, 30, has been charged with DUI homicide in a two-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a toddler Saturday night. The crash is still under investigation.

Hinds County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Othor Cain said Prince was released on bond Wednesday, but did not give a specific bond amount. Cain adds that Prince has been arrested eight other times, but this is his first DUI arrest. Prince is also facing a probation violation in Florida.

One-year-old Christopher Salas, who was in a car seat, was killed in the accident at the Highway 18 and Springridge Road intersection around 6 p.m. Saturday, according to Cpl. Odis Easterling with MHP.

The accident involved a 2003 Ford Expedition driven by Michael Salas, 24, of Jackson. Salas was traveling southbound on Springridge Road when a 2004 Ford F-250, driven by Prince, traveling westbound on Highway 18, collided with the SUV.

Three other children traveling in the Expedition were injured in the crash and were taken to the hospital. According to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Ashley Salas, 5, is in good condition, and Pamela Salas, 4, and Adrian Salas, 2, are both in serious condition.

Twenty-one-year-old Maria Rojas, who was also in the Expedition, was transported to UMMC with unknown injuries.
