LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man who recently was released from jail died in surgery Saturday night after he was stabbed.
Wallace Harraway, 40, suffered a single stab wound to the chest, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. Harraway died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday while undergoing surgery for his injuries at University of Louisville Hospital.
Police said the stabbing happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Broadway and Clay Street.
There was no immediate word on what led to the stabbing or a possible suspect in the case.
A spokesperson for Metro Corrections said Harraway was released from jail on June 6 following his arrest on a bench warrant for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
