LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A vote on how the city will spend your money in the coming year will take place Thursday night.
The Metro Council will cast its vote on the yearly budget during the June 20 meeting. The Budget Committee gave its unanimous approval to the package on Wednesday.
Items in the budget include $300,000 for emergency repairs to the Fiscal Court Building, as well as $5 million for beautification, affordable housing and job growth incentives. Other projects include vacant house cleanup and street repairs.
In May, Mayor Greg Fischer proposed a balanced budget for the coming fiscal year that focused on infrastructure investments, such as paving roads and installing bike lanes across Louisville.
