LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man who was making money selling auto insurance policies is now facing charges after police discovered he was not a licensed agent.
According to an arrest warrant, Isiah Ellis, 24, sold policies to five different people under the name of Guide One Insurance. People paid Ellis $300 to $1,200 for what they thought were auto insurance policies.
The fraud was discovered when one of Ellis' clients filed a claim after an accident and learned they weren't covered.
Ellis was arrested around 2 a.m. June 21 by West Buechel Police. He was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on two counts of fraud.
