LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The surviving victim of Wednesday's Lakeview Condominium shootings continues to recover from her injuries.

Louisville Metro Police say Gary Stewart killed his ex-girlfriend Jillian Wood and their 8-year-old daughter Shelbi at a condo off Gardiner Lane. Stewart also shot his mother as she fought him for the gun, investigators say. Stewart then shot and killed himself.

Stewart's mother made it out of the condo after she was shot, but she collapsed. A neighbor heard her moaning in the hallway and stepped outside to help.

"She just kept saying, ‘Help me, help me, help me,' and there wasn't anything I could do except just to let her hold on to me," the neighbor said.

Images of the quadruple shooting were engrained in her mind.  She said she saw a man slumped over, smelled gunpowder, and saw blood everywhere.

"I just went in my house and washed the blood off and they took her away," the woman said.

Stewart's mother was listed in fair condition Friday at University of Louisville Hospital.

Stewart's uncle escaped unhurt along with Jillian and Gary's 12-year-old son.

Family members said Stewart lured the children to the condo by inviting them to go swimming. The family said Jillian went along to protect her children.

In 2010, Wood filed an emergency protection order against Stewart. In the EPO, she stated, "I'm terrified he will seriously kill me, to get me out of the way. He has threatened to kill me numerous times in the past. Now I believe him."

Prior to getting the EPO, she stated that Stewart told her, "I'll put a bullet in your head and leave you in a ditch where nobody will find you."

The EPO expired in February 2013.
