Deals at Libby Glass Factory garage sale

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo is the Glass Capital of the World. This weekend, the Libbey Glass Factory on Buckeye Street is hosting a garage sale with deals you won't believe.

The stuff comes from Libbey factories from all over the world. Everything has been discontinued, which explains the discounted prices.

"We have sixteen piece sets for $5, bake ware sets for $10, single glasses for 50 cents" said Ryan Routhe of the Libbey Glass Factory.

And the list goes on, but here's the best part, all the money spent this weekend goes to the Beach House and Friendly Center in North Toledo.

The garage sale is held in the summer and fall. Last year, the two agencies received $17,000.

"We usually find at this time of the year we got a lot of weddings, and just gifts for people. Usually in the fall, we get more Christmas-type things," said Routhe.

Word of the garage sale is spread on social media. When folks find out, they swarm to the place.

"Very good deals. Better than anywhere else," says Katie Corbian.

"Definitely lots of great deals," said Nancy Freitag. "Lot's of good stuff, good choices."

The garage sale runs Saturday until 4:00 p.m.
