LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The new owners of The Summit are asking the public to help rename the popular east Louisville shopping center. One lucky contest entrant will win a $500 shopping spree.

Everyone who votes on the new name will be entered into a drawing. 

"We couldn't be more excited to look to area residents to help us rename the center," said Vivian Fields, Vice President of Retail Management for M&J Wilkow, the Chicago-based company that recently acquired the management contract for the shopping center. "I'm from Louisville and I think this is a great way to kick off our new partnership with the community. We need help renaming the center and someone is going receive a wonderful prize for participating."

The new management agreement stipulates that the property be renamed within 90 days.

"We're inviting all of Louisville to participate," said Fields. "Everyone will have a chance to vote on the new name online. We are also planning to have a variety of fun events and opportunities to win prizes both online and at the center to reintroduce the community to everything we have to offer."

Anyone interested in participating in the contest, should click here to visit nameyourcenter.com. Participants should vote for one of the three provided options or suggest an idea of their own.

The winner will be announced, along with the new name of the center, at the final "Music on the Terrace" summer concert series event on August 15.
