The driver of a minivan hit a man as he approached the woman's vehicle, pinning him underneath, according to police.
The LMPD traffic unit is investigating.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman is charged with murder and DUI after a deadly accident that killed a pedestrian late Friday night in far eastern Jefferson County.
A witness told police a woman behind the wheel of a Kia minivan was driving recklessly on Aiken Road, crossing back and forth in the roadway. The witness said a man driving a red Ford pickup truck pulled in front of the woman's vehicle and got out of his truck in the 16600 block of Aiken Road. The driver of the Kia, identified as Jennifer R. Pierce, 38, of Louisville, hit the man as he approached her vehicle, pinning him underneath, according to police. The man suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Police said Pierce failed a field sobriety test and told officers she had two or three drinks prior to the accident.
