LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The victim of a deadly accident has been identified.
James Holt, 47, died of multiple blunt force trauma after being hit Friday night in far eastern Jefferson County.
Holt recently moved to Louisville from Southern Indiana and was getting off work from Ford when the accident happened.
Jennifer Pierce, 38, of Louisville was charged with murder and DUI. A witness told police a woman behind the wheel of a Kia minivan was driving recklessly on Aiken Road, crossing back and forth in the roadway.
The witness said a man driving a red Ford pickup truck pulled in front of the woman's vehicle and got out of his truck in the 16600 block of Aiken Road.
The driver of the Kia, identified as Pierce, apparently hit the man as he approached her vehicle, pinning him underneath, according to police. The man, now identified as Holt, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Pierce failed a field sobriety test and told officers she had two or three drinks prior to the accident.
