RIYNEYVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Wednesday night's storm demolished sheds, tore the shingles off roofs and even ripped the siding off of a couple of homes in Rineyville, Kentucky.

Residents said they saw large hail that put holes in some trailers.

"It's just a big mess around here," said Riyneyville resident Calvin Powell. His yard services company was busy hauling trees that were taken out by the storm.

The most noticeable damage across the town was downed and uprooted trees. They kept tree services in Riyneyville in business. Steven Wallace owns S& M Tree Service, he said "We take trees apart, trim trees, grind stumps, set trusses, things we can do with a crane, bucket, chipper."  He said the phone has not stopped ringing since early Thursday morning.

"It was hailing pretty bad, wind was pretty strong, it was scary, it was pretty rough," said resident Shawn Edwards. He took a chainsaw to the tree that damaged his house. Opting to take care of his downed tree, himself.

The National Weather Service confirmed straight-line winds up to 80 mph caused damage along KY 220 from Jenkins Road to Rineyville Road.

These locations are just west of Rineyville in Hardin County.
